The Quality/Risk Manager is a Texas RN with, at a minimum 1-2 years’ acute care hospital quality experience.  Has worked with surgical based data repositories, such as ACS, NSQIP, etc. Experience with Quality Net and external reporting is needed, as well as performance improvement, hands-on expertise with FMEA and RCA, After action reports and large volume of chart audit experience that has resulted in working with OPPE/FPPE requirements for credentialing. 

Joint Commission experience is highly recommended and familiarity with other agency /regulatory requirements such as FOCUS CMS surveys, management of grievances and complaints with the state requirements for TX Department of health.

The candidate must have a healthy ability to use electronic records, spreadsheets, data query, and other computer familiarity. Will consider BSN – but prefer Master’s prepared.

Position at this time reports to the Department of HIM and Patient Safety/Regulatory readiness, with minimal staff direct management, this will possibly change in the future based on candidate’s ability to grow and take on additional responsibilities and independent work and deadlines.  Prefer certification in AHRQ or other national quality professional organizations. 

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of TDH, Medicare and The Joint Commission rules & regulations.
  • Knowledge of surgical based data repositories, such as ACS, NSQIP, etc.
  • Experience with Quality Net and external reporting is needed, as well as performance improvement, hands-on expertise with FMEA and RCA.
  • Experience with OPPE/FPPE requirements for credentialing.

Highly Preferred Experience

  • Master's in Healthcare; will consider BSN only with an extensive background in QA.
  • Current Texas RN Licensure or the ability to obtain the license prior to start date.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in acute care hospital quality setting.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a progressive management position.
  • Experience with after action reports and large volume of chart audit experience.
  • Strong ability to use electronic records, spreadsheets, data query, and other computer familiarity.
